SPAM now available in ‘MaLa’ Spicy Szechuan flavour because CNY is here

Ma La (麻辣) which literally translates as numb spicy in Chinese is slowly winning over taste buds around the world, including spicy-loving Singaporeans.

The numbness is caused by a spice known as Szechuan pepper, and along with a number of other spices and chilli, they form the base ingredients for a very thick tasty broth mostly used for hotpots.

Popular luncheon meat SPAM has caught the Szechuan fever and has launched a new MaLa Spicy Szechuan flavour, now available at FairPrice supermarkets.

Perfect for spicing up the steamboat reunion dinners for the coming Chinese New Year, the SPAM MaLa will be up for grabs at a promotional price of $8.75 for two cans.

The offer will be available from now till 15 February or while stocks last.
